Kannawidan Festival: Vigan's Treausure Event

The Kannawidan Festival is one of the most exciting and most awaited celebrations in Ilocos Sur. It happens every year in Vigan City where it lasts for several days, usually from late January to early February. In this festival highlights the rich culture and traditions of the Ilocano people. Moreover Kannawidan Festival is a time to showcase the province’s history, arts, and heritage.

One of the main attractions of this celebrated festival is the trade fair, where local products such as bagnet, longganisa, empanada, and a variety of handicrafts are sold. Tourists and locals who visit the trade fair gather to enjoy delicious food and see the best of Ilocos Sur. Recently, Kannawidan Festival showcase street dancing, beauty pageants, cultural perfromances, traditional and online games, and music concerts, making the celebration more fun and lively. Another highlight of this festival is the tribal competition, where different indigenous groups perform their unique dances and songs.
